Weston Instruments’ Wichita Division was acquired by EDO Corporation in 1969, the new parent company purchasing Electronic Equipment Engineering, Inc. (EEE) that same year. With their acquisitions, the company solidified their presence in the light aircraft industry.

In 1982, EDO began to shift away from the aviation industry, and four key executives left to establish Sigma Tek, Inc. in order to continue aviation related operations. With the purchase of EDO-Aire Wichita assets, Sigma-Tek initiated a new era of business. Since their initial establishment, Sigma-Tek has continued to grow with the manufacturing of various aviation instruments, control panels, and accessories.
